++++How do I set my VPN Firewall/DDNS Settings? |
Your VPN firewall and DDNS settings will be accessible once you are connected to the VPN.
Simply browse to [[http://www.seed.st/vpn]] and you will see that when you are connected it is no longer an order page but a control panel.

++++What is DDNS? | 
DDNS is a feature included with all our VPN accounts that allows you to easily identify the IP that you have received from the VPN once you are connected. You can use this to remotely connect to your computer or even run your own servers. If you enable the option at [[http://www.seed.st/vpn]] while connected to the VPN the DDNS will be activated. Your DDNS is always [username].user.vpn.seed.st. So if your username is pedro, your DDNS will be pedro.user.vpn.seed.st

++++How do I access files via FTP on my seedbox? |
  - Go to https://www.seed.st, type in your username where it says "Login" and press enter. {{:userstep1.gif?linkonly|image}}
  - The login dialog will pop up, your server address is displayed above the login prompt, it should say something like "To view this page, you must log in to this area on **euxxx.seed.st**".  Write this address down. {{:userstep2.gif?linkonly|image}}
  - Open [[http://www.filezilla-project.org|FileZilla]] or your favorite FTP client.  In the "Host" field enter the address you copied from step 2.  Enter the username and password you use to login to Seed.ST, and leave the port blank (default) or if it is required enter port 21. {{:ftpstep1.gif?linkonly|image}}
  - We support Explicit TLS/SSL for encrypted connections as well as unencrypted FXP site-to-site transfer.  If your FXP is not working try turning off encryption.

++++My FTP speeds are slow, is there any way to make them faster? |
  * There are two methods you may be able to use to increase your FTP speeds.

  * **Use our free FTP BNC service (BETA):**
    - Follow steps 1 & 2 from "How do I access files via FTP on my seedbox?" above to get your server address.
    - When you connect with your FTP client, instead of using your server address in the 'Host' field use **bnc.seed.st**
    - In the username field put **username**@**euxxx.seed.st** (euxxx.seed.st is your server address). {{:ftpbnc.gif?linkonly|image}}
    - Click 'Connect'
    - Our bnc **does not allow encryption** yet!!  So please turn off SSL/TLS.
    - This is exceptionally helpful to US and EU users who are getting slow speeds, it is untested outside of those networks, but we believe other users may receive a boost as well.  YMMV

  * **Increase your number of simultaneous downloads:**
    - This varies greatly depending on your FTP client, please consult the manual that came with your FTP client software.

++++How do I get my seedbox IP address? |
  - Go to https://www.seed.st, type in your username where it says "Login" and press enter. {{:userstep1.gif?linkonly|image}}

  * No, absolutely no public trackers are to be used on our servers.

  * We're sorry but we have no way of doing this, if you want a monthly package you will have to cancel your weekly and purchase a monthly package.

++++Help! My torrents from the watch directory are pausing after a minute or so. |
  * **DO NOT use autotools to create the watch directory - it is already setup**, the refresh rate on autotools is default (200 seconds), where /home/username/watch is 3 seconds.  The watch directory is setup independent of ruTorrent and autotools - you do not need to add any settings to make it work.  **Stacking the autotools script and the built in watch directory functionality will break the watch directory.**  Running it independent of autotools means the torrents that are running will remain in the watch directory, and when you delete them it will stop and delete the running torrent - it is more convenient and faster.

++++What is autodl-irssi and how do I configure it? |
  * autodl-irssi is a plugin that connects to an IRC channel and watches for and downloads new torrents announced by that tracker's announce bot, according to filters you set.
  - http://code.google.com/p/rutorrent/wiki/PluginAutodlirssi#Usage is a complete tutorial on how to configure autodl-irssi for ruTorrent.
  - You must configure the 'Trackers...' section of autodl-irssi to download torrents from trackers that require a login.
  - When you configure the action, you must use the **Save to watch folder** action, NOT the rTorrent action.
  - You can browse for your watch directory, or enter **/home/username/watch** - where username is your username. {{:watchdir.gif?linkonly|image}}
  - **DO NOT use autotools to create the watch directory** - it is already setup, the refresh rate on autotools is default (200 seconds), where /home/username/watch is 3 seconds.

++++How do I cancel my subscription? |
  * Cancelling your seedbox subscription is non-reversible.  Once you cancel your account WILL be deleted at the end of the term and there is nothing we can do to stop that from happening.

  * **If you signed up with a PayPal account:**
    - Log into your PayPal account.
    - Click "Profile" at the top of the page.
    - Click "My Money" on the left side.
    - Next to "My Preapproved Payments" click "Update". {{:cancelsub.gif?linkonly|image}}
    - Find the subscription (it will be named SysOp) and click on it.
    - Click "Cancel Subscription" at the bottom and confirm it on the next page.
    - Your account will remain active until the term ends, after it ends your account will be deleted along with all of your files.

  * **If you signed up with a Credit Card and do not have a PayPal account:**
    - Find the e-mail you were sent by PayPal confirming your subscription when you signed up.
    - Copy the "Subscription ID" in this e-mail (it will start with #S-)
    - Send an e-mail to [[admin@seed.st]] stating that you want to cancel and include the Subscription ID you copied from step 2.
    - Your account will remain active until the term ends, after it ends your account will be deleted along with all of your files.

  * **DISCLAIMER: PayPal has started processing their "end-of-term" notifications early in the morning (around 6AM EST) instead of at the time they were started, so your account will probably be deleted early in the morning on the date your subscription ends, regardless of what time you signed up!  We have contacted PayPal about this issue, but we don't believe they will fix it.**

++++I've only downloaded 1MB of a torrent, why does it say I'm using 10+GB? |
  * rTorrent has a bug on ext4 filesystems (or any filesystem that supports fallocate).  It ignores the setting to disable file pre-allocation and so when a file STARTS downloading it reserves the space for the entire file on the system (and shows that you are using the space).  The only way around this is to add a torrent and check the "Don't start the download automatically" box and go to the Files tab and right-click the files you don't want and select "Don't download" and then start the torrent.
